What We Do
The Essex Blues Brothers perform over 60 private and corporate events a year, as either a 2-piece playback, 5 piece band with live saxophone, trumpet and guitar, or as a full live 8 piece band - we can be as flexible as you like, the choice is yours! We understand that entertainment is such an important part of your party. Our aim is to make the planning of your party as easy as possible, by using our vast experience gained at the many events we do. We accept and understand that as much as you plan, events will often not run to schedule - we will be as flexible as required to help make your event run as smoothly as possible.
Standard Service
Our standard service includes all the essentials you'll need for an amazing party. It's designed to minimise costs by including everything you'll need for a 'normal' size corporate event or party.
- Arrive from 6pm, setup by 7.30pm.
- Perform two 45 minute sets, or one 60 minute set of live blues brothers party music, finishing by midnight.
- Background music before 1st live set, pre-mixed party music between live sets and after 2nd live set, up until midnight.
- Very high quality PA & lighting provided, suitable for audiences of up to 500 people
Additional Options
We also offer the following additional upgrade options:
- Active DJ service (run by a band member)
- After midnight finish
- Pre-6.00pm early arrival fee
- Upgraded PA & Lighting suitable for any event between 500 people up to 5000 people.
What we'll do at your event
Arrival, set up and sound check
We will contact you 3 weeks before the date to confirm any last requirements. Upon arrival we'll liaise with the venue/event manager and load in, set up and sound check as quickly and as discretely as possible. The time this takes depends on the size of the band you have booked. It can take anything from 60-90 minutes, 20 minutes of which are for 'sound check' which involves us playing live, full volume, in order to balance the sound and get the best possible live sound in your specific venue.
We are happy to arrive and set up before your guests but we charge an early arrival fee per hour before 6pm if you've booked our standard service.
1st Live set
After our first live set, we'll take a break (usually around 45 minutes) and for weddings, this is the ideal time to serve the buffet. If a buffet is indeed done in this time, we'll leave a play list of carefully chosen music running in the background through our PA system. If no buffet is done, we will instead leave carefully selected pre-mixed party music playing for people to continue dancing to.
If you choose our DJ upgrade option, a member of the band will run the DJ rig and be on hand to take requests and make announcements.
